Hello Olive Families!

We are fast approaching the first day of school and we are excitedly getting the school ready for your child’s arrival! Our students have the amazing opportunity to learn in newly updated classrooms with brand new technology that will enhance their learning. Please be aware that we are still under construction, so you will still see and hear the work being done as they build a new administrative office facing Olive Street and a new Kindergarten classroom where the current office is located. My first priority is the safety of our students, so our students will have some restrictions when it comes to the upper playground when school starts. With that being said, I want to invite you and your child to some of our upcoming Back to School Events.

• Virtual Olive Family Welcome and Informational Evening will be held on Zoom at 7PM. Families will receive information regarding COVID safety protocols along with more information on our upcoming Back to School Events. Zoom link:
• TK/Kinder Orientation will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 12 – 3 PM hosted by our TK/K teachers. Invitations have been mailed out, but this is an optional event. Students will enter through the Kinder yard gate located in the Plum parking lot. Orientation will be held on the Kinder Playground at the child’s designated time. Students will be able to tour their classroom in a single file line; however, parents must stay outside. Masks are required.
• New Family Orientation will be held on August 16, 2021 from 5 – 6:00 PM. This will take place on the lower playground and is an optional event. Invitations will be emailed to parents. New families will be able to get information from PTA, Food and Nutritional Services, pick-up a device, and receive their class assignment. Masks are required. 
• Olive’s All-in-One will be held on August 16, 2021 from 6PM – 7:30 PM. This is an optional, after hours event where families will be able to get information from PTA, Food and Nutritional Services, pick-up a device (2nd and 4th only), and receive their class assignment. Masks are required. This event will be done according to LAST name:
  • A – H 6:00 – 6:30 PM
  • I – Q  6:30 – 7:00 PM
  • R – Z 7:00 – 7:30 PM
    • 2ND AND 4TH GRADER STUDENTS  – YOU MUST BRING AND RETURN YOUR IPAD OR OLD DEVICE IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A NEW ONE. 
• Back to School Night is scheduled for Thursday, September 2, 2021. This is an in-person event, but we need to limit large gatherings to mitigate any risks. Therefore, there will not be a principal’s message and we will stagger teacher presentation times in effort to limit groups. ONLY 1 parent per student in each classroom. You are encouraged to utilize the outdoors for a part of the meeting. Masks are required.
  • Grade Level Times: 
    • TK/K/1: 6:00-6:30 PM
    • 2nd/3rd : 6:30-7:00 PM
    • 4th-5th: 7:00-7:30 PM

¡Nos acercamos rápidamente al primer día de clases y estamos muy emocionados de preparar la escuela para la llegada de su hijo! Nuestros estudiantes tienen la increíble oportunidad de aprender en aulas recientemente renovadas con nueva tecnología que mejorará su aprendizaje. Tenga en cuenta que todavía estamos en construcción, por lo que aún verá y escuchará el trabajo que se está realizando mientras construyen una nueva oficina administrativa frente a Olive Street y un nuevo salón de kindergarten donde se encuentra la oficina actual. • La orientación de TK / Kinder se llevará a cabo el lunes 16 de agosto de 2021 de 12 a 3 pm organizada por nuestros maestros de TK / K. Las invitaciones se han enviado por correo, pero este es un evento opcional. Los estudiantes entrarán por la puerta del patio de Kinder ubicada en el estacionamiento de Plum. La orientación se llevará a cabo en el Kinder Playground a la hora designada por el niño. Los estudiantes podrán recorrer su salón de clases en una sola fila; sin embargo, los padres deben quedarse afuera. Se requieren máscaras.
• La orientación para nuevas familias se llevará a cabo el 16 de agosto de 2021 de 5 a 6:00 p.m. Esto se llevará a cabo en el patio de juegos inferior y es un evento opcional. Las invitaciones se enviarán por correo electrónico a los padres. Las nuevas familias podrán obtener información de la PTA, Servicios de Alimentos y Nutrición, recoger un dispositivo y recibir su asignación de clase. Se requieren máscaras.
• El All-in-One de Olive se llevará a cabo el 16 de agosto de 2021 de 6 p.m. a 7:30 p.m. Este es un evento opcional después del horario de atención en el que las familias podrán obtener información de la PTA, los Servicios de Alimentos y Nutrición, recoger un dispositivo (2º y 4º solamente) y recibir su asignación de clase. Se requieren máscaras. Este evento se realizará de acuerdo con el APELLIDO:
  • A – H 6:00 – 6:30 PM
  • I – Q  6:30 – 7:00 PM
  • R – Z 7:00 – 7:30 PM
    • ESTUDIANTES DE 2 Y 4 GRADO: DEBEN LLEVAR Y DEVOLVER SU IPAD O DISPOSITIVO VIEJO PARA RECIBIR UNO NUEVO.
• La Noche de Regreso a Clases está programada para el jueves 2 de septiembre de 2021. Este es un evento en persona, pero debemos limitar las reuniones grandes para mitigar los riesgos. Por lo tanto, no habrá un mensaje del director y escalaremos los tiempos de presentación de los maestros en un esfuerzo por limitar los grupos. SOLO 1 padre por estudiante en cada salón. Se le anima a utilizar el aire libre durante una parte de la reunión. Se requieren máscaras.
