Novel Knowledge General Information

Novel Knowledge is a reading enrichment program designed to encourage reading and promote teamwork and cooperation.

Novel (nov-uhl), noun:  A book that tells a long story about made-up people and events.

Knowledge (nol-ij), noun:  The things that someone knows

Novel Knowledge, noun:  A fun competition between teams of 3rd – 5th graders testing them on their knowledge of 6 pre-selected novels.

Want to be involved in something that makes reading fun?

Form a team of 3 members.  If you’re a 3rd, 4th or 5th grader, here’s all you have to do:

  • Come up with a creative team name
  • Sign your team up in the library (see deadline below)
  • Read all 6 great novels before the competition in the spring (see dates below)
  • Be ready to answer 2 rounds of written questions about each novel as a team,

Top 4 teams will advance to the final

Competition Dates:  February 11th & 12th, 2018
Final competition:  February 13, 2019
